Burlesque against Breast Cancer: Reading
& Burlesque Performance at Oct 12 London Fetish Fair
TIMES 3:30 P.M. on the left MEZZANINE Oct 12th at Shillibeers.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there's nothing
we like better than getting kinky to celebrate. What better time to celebrate
as well than on a Sunday afternoon with lots of other beautiful, like
minded souls!
The founder of Burlesque Against Breast Cancer, Brighton-based sex writer,
Emily Dubberley:
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. It affects 44,000
women - and 300 men - per year. That means that by the end of today, over
100 women - and probably one man - will have found out that they have
the disease. And earlier this year one of them, unfortunately, was my
mother. She luckily survived after undergoing radiotherapy and had immense
support from cancer charities including Macmillan. It only seemed fair
to give them that support back.
As well as a number of events, including a charity burlesque ball and
a special midnight screening of Moulin Rouge, Emily has teamed up with
the publisher, Xcite Books, to collate a special Burlesque version of
the very popular range from Xcite, Ultimate Burlesque which
will be showcased on the night.
Enter the sparkling world of burlesque as you've never seen it before.
The UK's top erotic writers including Katie Fforde, Jo Rees, Nikki Magennis
and Kristina Lloyd revel in the erotic glamour of fluttering eyelashes,
twirling tassels and more than a hint of stocking. Sapphic encounters,
fetish fun, sensual exploration, kinky submission and domination - whatever
your pleasure these stories are guaranteed to provide the ultimate tease.
Some of the authors from the book will be appearing at the London Fetish
Fair!
Welcome to the world's longest running adult fashion and BDSM market!
Appearing on behalf of BABC will be:
MARK FARLEY
Mark has contributed to Scarlet Magazine, Cliterati and The Idler. His
short stories have featured in the Xcite Books (through Accent Press)
range in the collections, Seriously Sexy 1 and 2. One of his stories will
be published in Volume Five of the Nexus Confessions series (through Black
Lace) in October.
SARAH BERRY
A staff writer for Penthouse Forum and Desire, Sarah Berry makes the
occasional filthy appearance in Scarlet. She has dabbled in the world
of burlesque too, performing as Sister Berry Rogers at the Whoopee Club's
